Philadelphia Voting Thuggery
By Wyatt Earp | November 4, 2008
Attention Voters! DO NOT let thugs intimidate you at the polls! If you think you are being intimidated, notify the police immediately! Apparently, this is happening at polling locations across the city of Philadelphia – and they are not “asking” you to vote for John McCain.
Well, unless The Black Panthers are suddenly voting Republican, that is.

More from Townhall.com:
Three more things to keep an eye on in the Keystone state:
1) State operatives are reporting that calls are being made to Republican voters in Lancaster County telling them their polling stations have been changed.
2) NBC News is reporting major “voting obstacles” at at least eight different polling stations in PA. Broken voting machines are listed as the main problem.
3) Two Black Panthers have allegedly blocked persons from entering a polling place in Philadelphia. One of them is said to have brandishes a nightstick. An eyewitness told Fox News one of the Black Panthers said “We’re tired of white supremacy.”
There is also a report of a Black Panther telling voters, “A black man will win this election, no matter what!”
For the rest of the voters in Pennsylvania: Please do not let the shenanigans in my town affect this election. Get out and vote, and don’t let anyone, anywhere influence your decision. In the interim, I urge an Obama representative to condemn the actions of these nightstick-wielding thugs.
More Shenanigans, Chicanery, and Tomfoolery: Lancaster, PA (McCain friendly) voters are fraudulently being told their polling places have been relocated. Classy. New Hampshire GOP Poll Watchers being kept away. I mean, what right do they have to, um, “watch” the polls? 100,000 Georgia voters are also registered in Ohio and Florida. Vote early and often!

I voted early and it was a quiet experience. We’re lucky that Kentucky isn’t a battleground state and that thugs are rare. I hope these scum get arrested and that Howard Dean condemns them. But I’m not holding my breath.

I’d voted before 11 am, at the polling place, which is across the street from my apartment. No problem at all, although I was voter no. 213 for the division of my ward (there seems to be two to three divisions using the same building to vote. Luckily its a achool so there should be plenty of room.). I wonder if there two nimrods are still where they are now after being so exposed. Hopefully not.

Ky Person – Most of this nonsense is happening in the inner city neighborhoods. Go figure. If it’s going to be such a landslide, why have thugs at the poll entrance?
Leoni2 – Apparently, the one with the nightstick was escorted away by police. Of course, the MSM (philly.com) wrote that the Black panthers were “guarding” the polling place, but Republicans in Delco were “harassing” voters. Carrying a nightstick is not harassment? Those people in Delco must have set up a machine gun nest!
CBullitt – I said all along that (sadly) I think Obama will win. It’s nonsense like this that taints every election. However, it happens every Election Day in Philly, and people still seem surprised when it does.
Hell, this story wasn’t even being reported on the four local news sites when I posted it at 2pm!!!

Holy crap; how the F- does this happen? Why didn’t the polling monitors call the police about this right away?
It’s a shame that a few a-holes have to ruin the party. And you’re not going to hear a thing from an Obama rep: 1. Obama has zero to do with this. 2. who’s gonna mention negative press on election night….nobody.
For the record, I was voter 712 in my precinct! Woohoo, lots o’ votin’ goin’ on.

Randal – They were probably scared out of their pants. Have you seen many of these volunteers? The ones in my district are about 70. Police were called . . . eventually. Probably the second the guy with the camera showed up.
Obama himself has nothing to do with this, but someone from his Philly campaign should condemn it. It would make the entire campaign look good. Otherwise, people will think he (or his local campaign) approves.
As it stands, news outlets are saying the vote is going off with “few problems.” THIS is a HUGE problem!

“They were probably scared out of their pants. Have you seen many of these volunteers? The ones in my district are about 70. ”
I understand your point, but WTF? Everyone in the world has a cell phone. Go take a 5 minute break from your volunteering and make a call. Have the cops come and shoot those racists in the back of the head.
That’s why the city is such a sad place these days. We had Tom Manion (Repub. for Congress against Patrick Murphy) stop by my polling place while we were in line and he took the time to shake hands and say a few words with everybody in line. There was no BS, just saying hello and both Dems and Reps. were cordial to him.

Randal – I think that’s a win-win race. Both Manion and Murphy seem like good people.

Sure makes me glad we vote in a little rural precinct, and your right, most of the poll workers were around when JFK ran, looks like the same ones anyway?

Wyatt, I’d discovered that the one with the nightstick was removed by the police vis HotAir via P.U.M.A. Woud probably have heard of neither incident if let to the MSM, either local or national.

The more I read about all the fun of voting in person, the more I appreciate the fact that Oregon has vote by mail.
I did all my voting in my kitchen with a large cup of coffee(OK, half white russian, half coffee) and I didn’t even have to put pants on. Instead of spending money on gas and waiting in line, I just slapped a stamp on it and walked out to the mail box.

I agree with Diller. Too bad voting everywhere isn’t like what I experienced today. Smiling faces, no special interest groups, no intimidation. Blacks and whites were treated equally and cordially and this is “back-woodsy, redneck, yokel” land.
There is something to be said for living off the beaten path.

If you were one of those ‘typical white grandmothers’ Barack was talking about, would you walk by these guys, or would you just head back home?
November 4th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
Woman slightly older than me escorting grandmom or elderly mother into the voting booth….
Elderly Lady: What do I do? Who do I vote for?
Daughter/grandaughter: Ssssshhhh!
(I was giggling.)
I had a 40 minute wait at 6:00 a.m. Even though I know a lot of the voters in my line were voting for Obama, given where I live, it was nice to see enthusiasm for the process. (Wish those in line with me, like I wish for many, would have voted with their heads and not their emotions.)

Diller – That explains the beehive hairdos.
Leoni2 – You got that right.
Kaveman – Wish I could vote sans pants.
Snigs – And there’s nothing to be said for voting in Kill-adelphia.
Insol – I’m a cop, and I would be intimidated by these racist thugs!
RT – It’s a shame New Jersey is so thoroughly Democrat. FOX called it for Obama. When will they (and PA) learn?
