Revenge Of The Calories

By Wyatt Earp | November 29, 2008

I’m a fat frak.

I told myself I wasn’t going to do a weigh-in this week because of Thanksgiving, but that would be a cop out. If I had any real self-control, I would have ignored my mother-in-law’s delicious, delicious food. As it stands, I am a weak, weak man. I pigged out more than I should have and even allowed myself two cans of Mountain Dew. The sweet, sweet goodness was fabulous, especially it’s been so long since I had any drink that contained sugar.

So, I was pretty pissed today when I stepped on the scale. It read 195 pounds. Now, I know that is only a one pound gain from last week, but this is the first time I have had a gain all year. I’m a damned failure, and if it takes me getting an eating disorder I will lose the weight I’ve amassed.

To be honest, 195 isn’t that bad in the grand scheme of things. I’m still down 41 pounds since January, but I still feel like a fat sack of crap. I’m not satisfied with myself, and probably won’t be until I get to the 180s. Walking is very difficult, since my endurance isn’t back yet, but I’m trying my best under the circumstances. Hopefully, next week will be better.

UPDATE: Sssteve is back, and he’s lost 14 pounds!

Is it illegal to virtually kick a lawman in the butt? (if it is, I didn’t do it) Eating disorders are badddd, don’t even go there!
As for gaining a pound this past week, quit being so dang hard on yourself. You haven’t been exactly as healthy and as mobile as usual, so it’s going to take a little more time then it would otherwise. I have complete confidence that you will reach your goal.
It took me 2 years to go from a 12 to my current size 8, you lost a whopping 41 pounds in under a year, jeeeeeeeeesh
(mumbles under her breath about impatient people)

Well, I have decided that if you can’t lose weight constantly, like a cancer patient seems to be able to do without thought nor sweat, then I don’t have to lose weight either. Thanks for continuing to lead me towards the dark side. I did like the lovely lady picture, although in person I would be terrified at such an offer – she was offering wasn’t she? But in seriousness – didn’t you smile at your lovely lady? Didn’t you make your family laugh and enjoy your being alive? Isn’t it great the recovery from your recent illness and medical treatment is very certain, as opposed to that high blood pressure and hockey nose? Truely, the holidays bring much joy, guilt and old family squabbles and feuds — but I like the good stuff best, and still feel blest. Even as fat as I am and you left me in the dust about twenty pounds ago. Sigh…

DL474 – Can’t hear you. In the bathroom throwing up!

E.L. – Yeah, I want to be skating, like yesterday, too. Sucks realizing that I can’t even step on the ice for another month.

Earl – In the grand scheme of things, the weight loss is not the end of the world. But don’t say cancer. With my luck – and recent string of illnesses . . .

I’m guessing you may kinda be at your ideal fightin weight Wyatt, those last 8 or 10lbs get real hard to lose, cause you ain’t losin water,so you gotta go on a real starvation type diet. Now I ain’t a dietician, but I am fat,so I’m speakin from experience, well I ain’t too fat, just 3ft. to short. All BS aside,be careful and take care of yourself, you can get pretty sick screwin around with diets.Like Earl said, enjoy your family and friends, and keep up the interesting posts.

You’re upset with 195? Hell, I haven’t seen 195 since fall of my senior year in high school. That would be September 1966. (Somehow, I GAINED five pounds through the football season and ended up at 200 pounds BEFORE Thanksgiving that year. Haven’t been below 200 since although I did get down to around 205 during construction of the Aerie.)

I, too, gained one pound over last week’s weight going from 217 to 218. Only having to shovel the driveway three times this week kept it from being more. Snow is scheduled for tomorrow into Monday so my exercise regime will continue!

Good luck to you but stop with the purging sh*t. And the surgery. No more hacking off bits and pieces, ya’ hear?

Wyatt, I’m sure there are many more productive things in your life that you could be obsessing over right now. Suck it up dude, one pound is one pound. One pound can come and go over the course of a few hours. Freak out over 10 pounds, chill in regards to the one. :P

I’ve already decided that I’m not going to weigh myself again until next Saturday morning. I’m also not going to do the food diary for a week. I’m getting too weird about it all.

Could be worse, dude. We could be challenging each other to a cheesesteak eating contest. We’re headed in the right direction.

Diller – Thanks, but I’ll get down to 185 if it kills me. Heh.

Joated – Yeah, a snip and an appendectomy are enough for one year.

    Randal – Jerk.

Snigs – Okay, so can I freak that I am not 185 yet? hat’s ten pounds! Tee hee hee!

RT – I only weigh myself once a week – always on the same day. If it did it multiple times, I’d be a mental case. Well, more of one . . .

I know you are joking around with the eating disorder comments, but I can tell you from personal experience that it is a horrifying thing to live through and battle.
