The Real Housewives Of Mexico

Don’t look now, but Mexican women are recreating the dictionary definition of “Heroin chic.”
CULIACAN, Mexico – Teenage girls in northwest Mexico are dazzled by the glamorous “narco wives” who laze in beauty salons, draped in designer gear, getting Swarovski crystals glued onto their fingernails.
Each year, dozens compete in beauty pageants in the sun-baked hills of Sinaloa state where their legendary good looks draw wealthy drug traffickers who will sometimes pluck one out and spirit her off to a mountain hide-out.
Now what could possibly go wrong with this?
The dangers of getting sucked into the gangland world have jumped, however, as an army crackdown by President Felipe Calderon has sparked new turf wars and hitmen ignore old codes against slaying their enemies’ wives, girlfriends or children.
In a sobering reminder of the risks they run, the reigning “Miss Sinaloa” beauty queen was arrested last month with her smuggler boyfriend in a truck full of guns and cash.
Days earlier, a top drug boss’s former lover was found dead in a car trunk with “Z”s — the mark of a rival gang’s hit squad — cut into her breasts, belly and buttocks. (H/T – )
Well yeah, if you think attacks, rapes, and murders are considered “things going wrong,” then this is probably not the career choice for you.
I think the article wants us to feel sorry for these women. Not gonna happen. They are simply gold digging tramps who are looking for “the good life” – and they don’t care how they get it. If something bad happens to them, too bad. They knew the risks when they signed on.

A little harsh even for YOU, Wyatt! ^_^ Good guys’ wives and families are also targets- should we not feel sorry for them either? They know the risks when they sign on as well. No, I can’t sympathize with a person who endangers their loved ones because they are participating in criminal activities, but I still would say it’s a terrible thing for anyone to be brutally murdered just because they picked the wrong boyfriend or husband. Gold digging may be shallow and pathetic but no one should DIE for it.

I can see your point wyatt, stupid is as stupid does. There are always women looking for a free ride when it comes to money and all that goes with it. You will find a lot of women from all back grounds, especially right out of college, wether it is ivy league or party central college are out to snag a wealthy husband. True, they dont usually get murdered, but the intent to snare a sugar daddy is still there.

I agree with Dorkelina, to a point. These women are not to blame for their boyfriends nefarious ways, but neither are they blind to it.
If you know your husband is a murderous thug I guess you shouldn’t be surprised if you get whacked by relatives of somebody he murdered.

Dorkelina – Who are you, and what have you done with Dorkelina? Naturally, it would be terrible if the children were targeted, but again, I absolutely believe these women know the risks going in. It’s not like they think these men are Hollywood producers. The woman pictured was arrested after being found with a carload full of drugs and assault weapons.
TBB – And shame on them for that thinking. When they get arrested, it’s on them.
Woody – And no one can tell me that these women don’t know what’s going on. They’re accessories to the fact.

They are able to accept it by just pretending they’re going shopping instead of carrying drugs.

Doghouse – “Oh no officer, that machine gun is just for personal protection!”
Jon – I think he took a wrong turn at Alberquerque.
