Wanted U.S. Marshal’s Body Found In Mexico

Normally, I would say that this was a sad story. It is never a good day when a law enforcement officer is murdered.
Of course, since this particular U.S. marshal was charged with stealing government property - including weapons - and his body was found in Juarez, Mexico, it is a safe bet to say that he wasn’t exactly a choirboy.
The body of a fugitive U.S. marshal has been found in the city of Juarez, Mexico, according to the U.S. Marshals Service — the latest discovery in a wave of violence that has gripped towns along the U.S.-Mexican border in recent months.
The body of Deputy Marshal Vincent Bustamante — who faced federal charges of stealing weapons and other government property — was found in Juarez on Wednesday, said Marshals Service spokesman Jeff Carter.
I feel badly for his family, but Bustamente gets no sympathy from me.
Bustamante appeared to have been shot in the back of the head, a federal law enforcement source said.
Chihuahua state police said the body had multiple wounds to the head — apparently consistent with an execution-style shooting, according to Edgar Roman, a reporter with XHIJ television in Juarez.
Bustamante, 48, was charged with stealing U.S. government property including Glock and Ruger handguns, a shotgun and a pair of binoculars, according to court documents. (H/T - CNN)
So, the question remains: What was he doing? Well, he was stealing guns and was found deep in the heart of cartel country. Now, I’m no detective (Heh), but I would guess that Bustamente was funneling guns to the cartels, and they killed him after a falling out.
Either way, Bustamente made his own bed, and the cartels buried him in it.

I agree. My prayers for the family.

I feel for his family.
I think he ran to Mexico when he found out he was being investigated, expecting his “friends” to take care of him. That may have been a poor choice of words.
