Stay Classy, Philadelphia Eagles Fans!

Code Monkey sent me this story from This Ain’t Hell. As if I needed another reason to hate my hometown football team and its drunken, ignorant fans:
I am directing this at the fans alone, and I encourage anyone who disagrees with me to tell me where I am wrong. Now, for perspective, my brother is a season ticket holder, and just sent me a picture from the game:
Good stuff right? Well, here was the next email I got from him:
“Could you please blog on how the jerk off eagles fans all stood up for a Rocky video but stayed seated when they announced a hometown hero Marine. I hate these f’n fans.”
Wow. Stand for a phony hero and don’t acknowledge a real one. I hope they lose every game all year.
As do I. This, of course, is not mean to impugn every single Philadelphia Eagles fan, but (in my opinion) most Eagles fans are more than worthy of their bad reputation. They believe they are among the “most knowledgeable in the world.” In reality, they are drunken, obnoxious thugs who never miss an opportunity to further embarrass themselves, their team, and their town.

The fact that Eagles “fans” and ticket holders haven’t booed and/or run Vick the D**K out of town by now should tell you what caliber of morality the possess. That said, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that they dissed a Marine!

Just to say that my Dad and I (I by default) are Eagle fans and as we live in Arizona, which is not graced by an NFL team per se, are both respectful and impressed by anyone who tries to sack McNair.

When my kid was small, someone gave us a hand-me-down Eagles T-shirt. It made an excellent dust rag.

Mark – I think you mean McNabb, right? Personally, I still think Rush was right: McNabb is overrated.
