Me Love You Long Time
By Wyatt Earp | January 21, 2010
Hey, who wants to get a job in South Korea? Apparently, the birth rates are so low there that the government is giving people time off to do the nasty. The horizontal mambo. . . .
South Korea’s health ministry, which is charged with boosting the nation’s low birthrate, is turning off the lights in its offices once a month to encourage staff to go home early and make more babies.
The ministry said in a statement Wednesday the switches will be flicked at 7.30 pm every third Wednesday in the month to “help staff get dedicated to childbirth and upbringing”.
Those with urgent duties will be exempt from the switch-off.
Strangely enough, those with inflatable girlfriends and the hideously ugly (like myself) will also be exempt. You know, this wouldn’t be a problem if more South Korean women looked like Lee Hyori (above). I’m just sayin’.

Maybe you could guest lecture. How much time did you get off to have that brood of yours? Good God, do you eat much fish on Friday? Goodnight John Boy!

“…the government is giving people time off to do the nasty. “
And to think, I wasted my day off waiting for the furnace repair guy. That settles it, I’m moving to South Korea. maybe I can get a place next door to Lee Hyori.

You mean if I was a South Korean, I could get horizontal, unencumbered, and superimposed on the company dime? I could do the horizontal bop? Pray to the Terrible Two Backed Monster?
WOW! How fun is that, Huh?
Would I have to join a union? Or be a State employee?

So, if someone gets hurt during the raising of the ol’ flagpole, does that mean they get workman’s comp? lol

I spent a year and a half there the first time and five years there the second time. Did a lot of boot knockin’ there. As far as birth rates being low, they could probably use a breather. Last I knew there were 76 million people on a mountainous peninsula about the size of Indiana. Most arable land is used to grow rice, etc. I used to have my family send me bottles of skin-so-soft throughout the summer months. I loved the country though and would go back in a minute now that I’m a civilian.

I tried helping their birth rate back in the early 80’s, but one guy can only do so much.

I think I’d rather have a Korean secretary or college student who was almost as goregeous as Lee Hyori, but came without the pampered diva tendencies and sense of entitlement that celebs worldwide have….

Rob – No worries. Happens to the best of us.
Mrs. Crankipants – Nah, I did all of that on company time. Psst, don’t tell my sergeant!
John D – Shame it wasn’t the furnace repair girl.
1oldleg – I think the unions are fist deep in this policy.
DL474 – Like anyone would believe that it was work-related!
Bill R. – They could just wait until the North imploeds itself and settle there.
tjbbpgobIII – With inflation, I doubt it’s five dollars anymore.
CP – *shudder*

Fenway_Nation – Good point. Lee is probably very high maintenance.

Great, more people in this world that will live in poverty. Awesomeness.

Randal – Ironically, if they stayed at work and put the banging to the side, they would generate a larger economy!

They are already the second biggest developed economy in Asia behind only Japan. They need the higher birth rate due to a lack of workers to keep up their incredible economic growth rate.

If I remember correctly it was 3 P’s when I was there and part of the bargin was for s–key, f–ky too.

I guess the draw down of US troops has really affected the birth rate. When they merge with North Korea they will have plenty of drones for the factories.
