Bobby Jindal Takes Charge In Gulf

It’s about God-damned time someone did. The White House has been dragging its feet, except when they are constantly denying Louisiana’s requests to build barrier walls.
I guess Governor Bobby Jindal finally had enough. He’s ordering the national guard to construct the walls immediately.
Eight weeks into the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of the Mexico, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has told the National Guard that there’s no time left to wait for BP, so they’re taking matters into their own hands.
In Fort Jackson, La., Jindal has ordered the Guard to start building barrier walls right in the middle of the ocean. The barriers, built nine miles off shore, are intended to keep the oil from reaching the coast by filling the gaps between barrier islands.
Leadership. It is defined by action, not position.

Good….at least he didn’t tell the families of the killed oil rig workers that he couldn’t suck up the oil with a straw.

It’s been my opinion from the beginning that this PITWH (prick in the whitehouse) has been dragging his feet regarding Louisiana because Jindal is a (gasp) Republican.
Can’t have a Republican governor showing the “leader” of the free world how to take control of a situation and ACT to prevent further damage, protecting his citizens and their economy.
The oil spill in the gulf is NOT the only disaster to be visited on this country in the last 18 months.
We have a “man made disaster” in the Whitehouse.

Obama is expected to announce tonight that the WH is taking over administration of the damage claims from BP.
He can’t get the boats there. He can’t get the booms there. But when it comes time to grab the money, he acts like what he is — The Looter in Chief.
I expect the people of the gulf coast will make out at least as well as the stockholders of GM…

Obama’s an academic, and he’s been doing what academics do: discuss, analyze, debate etc. Decisive action isn’t included among his skill-sets. He is the kind of guy you don’t want in charge during a crisis (Jimmy Carter, anyone?). Sadly, this is a lesson the country has had to learn the hard way. Again.

Wyatt, with all due respect, the enviros are the LEAST of our worries. The fact that this asshole is the most partisan, divisive, creature that EVER inhabited our public housing is of major concern. His incompetence will (and has already) cost us not only in terms of environmental damage but economically as well. The “moratorium” on drilling offshore will cost jobs in the region and will have a ripple effect on the country as a whole. Not to mention “cap and trade”, “healthcare” and God knows what else this child has up his sleeve.
Petulance, narcissism and arrogance are NOT the hallmarks of a world leader. They are the hallmarks of one who has no idea how to deal with ANY kind of genuine problem that faces him. One who has never had anyone say NO to him.
To say that he’s an empty suit would be an insult to the people that work hard to produce the fabrics and labor to design and make suits.
I’m finding it VERY difficult to restrain myself from posting what I REALLY think of this asshole so I’ll just leave it at that.

I was listening to Richard Hoagland on Coast To Coast last night say he has a friend (a geologist) who was on the survey team of geologists doing the core drill samples for that area prior to actual drilling. His friends
opinion, not the majority however, was that BP..SHOULD NOT..drill into that high pressure oil/gas pocket since we don’t have the technology to adequately control pressures which may reach 100,000 PSI on pipes and valves that large. High pressure cavitation would just eat the steel away rather quickly at those pressures. He now feels that the entire 22,000 ft drill depth is compromised, letting this high pressure gas and fluid into various lower pressure strata just above it could geologically destabilize the entire area adjacent to the drill hole leading to a possible failure venting of the majority of the oil/gas pocket along with destabilizing the methane hydrate lying above it on the sea floor. Worst case…if it all goes at once, the energy release will be about a Mt. Saint Helens underwater. There will be a tsunami of possible epic proportions for the gulf, followed by the release of possibly hundreds of millions of tons of methane into the atmosphere (how does 20 miles by 5 miles by several hundred feet of hydrate sound to ya?), causing possibly the largest fuel/air explosion evah!!!
Except of course, for that event about 55 million years ago in Siberia, that may have been a comparable methane release that killed off 50% of life on earth. It was called “The Little Extinction”. For comparison it would be equal to a small asteroid smacking into the gulf, maybe Tunguska size. But don’t worry per Fearless leader, all is well. To be fair this is a worst case scenario though.

Jindal should call in the fleet of dutch skimmer ships (aka “New Orleans School Buses in a parking lot when nobody would evacuate for katrina”) that Zero declined the day after the spill started.

Richard – He also promised to roll up his sleeves and meet with the CEO of BP. The meeting today was scheduled to last ten minutes. I’d respect Obama more if he just admitted he was a pathological liar.

Barry’s the first President we’ve had that had two intellectuals for parents. Every other President (including Carter– remember airline deregulation and legalizing microbrewing) had at least one working-job parent.
