Daniel Craig Gets A “Tattoo”

By Wyatt Earp | July 28, 2010

Since the Bond series is officially on hold – thanks to the probable insolvency of MGM – Daniel Craig landed a different role than he’s used to playing.

Daniel Craig is trading in 007’s tuxedos and martinis for the life of a schlubby journalist in the American remake of Sweden’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”

In news first reported by Entertainment Weekly and Deadline, Craig has signed on to play Mikael Blomkvist in the American big screen adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best-selling mystery novel, the Access Hollywood confirmed with Sony Pictures.

I like Daniel Craig. In my opinion, he’s the best Bond since Sean Connery, and he was terrific in the underrated “Layer Cake.” And since the comments from my female readership are down, I figured I owed them something nice.

(Because Mrs. Crankipants asked, there’s another pic below the fold.)

Why an American re-make when the original Swedish film just came out?

Wait a minute I thought Roger Moore was supposed to be the best James Bond since Sean Connery.

Yeah, he overacted a little bit but, what is that between Bond Actors anyway?

    Mrs. Crankipants – Rectified!

Butch – Maybe they wanted it without subtitles???

Ferrell – I like Craig’s films more than Moore’s. In my opinion, these are the three best Bond films:

Goldfinger (As if there is any debate.)
Casino Royale (The Craig version, of course.)
GoldenEye (With Pierce Brosnan). [GoldenEye and Casino Royale were done by the same director.]

My favorite Moore film is For Your Eyes Only.

Robbie – Glad I can help ya out today!

I agree that he’s a good James Bond, but I never liked the way Layer Cake ended. It was as if M. Night Shyamalan took over directing the last two scenes,…

Thank you Robbie, I think you’re cool too!

    My Dear Wyatt,
I don’t see you posting pictures of Christina Hendricks in a turtleneck. You could be a little more sensitive to the needs of your female readers. Thank you for the new picture, we appreciate it.

MeToo – I’ll remember that when I go down the shore this year.

BA – It shocked the Hell out of me, but yeah, I didn’t like the last scene, either.

Mrs. Crankipants – Figured if I didn’t, I’d get a out of you.

    JT – “Mid?”
