Independence Day
By Wyatt Earp | July 4, 2010
When you are out and about today, remember those who fought and died for our freedom. Remember how special this country is, and how American exceptionalism still lives, despite what others may say.
But above all, always remember: freedom isn’t free.

On my Dad’s side, my Grandmother from Vermont, was a member in good standing in the D.A.R. She used to refer to people from NY, Mass. and more southerly (northern) states as Tories, since more than half of them were, especially in Mass. LOL
Happy Independence Day to all, and may God Bless the United States of America.

Heh….I grew up in a house that was completed in 1771. The neighbor’s house was 3 years older. Despite that, there were no major Revolutionary war battles fought nearby….apparently we were a podunk backwater even back then.
Never really appreciated how much of American history I was surrounded by on a day-to-day basis until I moved out west.
Happy independence day to you and yours, Wyatt!

Wyatt:
Roger THAT!
If it wasn’t for those first PATRIOTS and all those that followed in THEIR shoes and boots) we’d be following the CRICKET matchs a LOT more closely (and having daily tea around 1600 hrs).
Have a great Independence Day, all!

Jon – Amen to that.
Fenway – I’m lucky to be here in Philly. History surrounds us at almost every turn.
Bob G – I like tea, but not every day.
Snigs – I have the entire collection on DVD. The kids love them.
RT – Thanks, you too.
