This. Is. Smackdown!

By Wyatt Earp | November 14, 2011

Comic artist Frank Miller on Occupy Wall Street this week. It’s a literary tour de force, in my opinion.

Frank Miller, the legenday comic artist behind Sin City, 300, and The Dark Knight Returns unloaded on the Wall Street protesters in a recent blog post, and plenty of his fans are firing back:

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached – is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

Yup, hit it right on the head. I took a walk past the Occupy Albany encampment today. It was cold and rainy, and the protesters who were out looked somewhat unenthusiastic. Winter will put a stake through the heart of that circus.

Cuomo sent the Troopers out to arrest dozens of them over the last couple of nights for trespassing (being in the park past the 11 PM curfew). The DA has stated that he wouldn’t prosecute any of them for trespassing unless there were accompanying charges of a more serious nature (property damage etc). The whole thing is a boondoggle, but its entertainment value is a definite plus.

When violence rises and a necessity for police arises it all just lends credence to comments like “is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness”

I suspect the whole point of the OWS movement isn’t actually a protest against Wall Street; at best that’s an excuse.

I’m thinking that what it will turn out to be is a rent-a-mob the Left will use, among other things, to violently disrupt Tea Party gatherings in the run-up to the elections next year. Which the media, natch, will blame on the TPers.

Gird your loins, folks; it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

I wonder how many OWS kids are trust fund babies who owe their existence to Wallstreet…. It would be interesting to see if they hold stock and who with…

Sully – And it’s funny as hell.

John D. – Next time bring some popcorn.

Ferrell – It’ll be great when these original hippies start dying out.

Wes S. – That’s okay, the MSM is becoming less believable every hour.

Sully – Probably more than we would guess.

I missed out on Woodstock… I was either in boot camp or in basic engineering propulsion school, I think… not that I would have gone anyway. I wasn’t into drugs, stinky/ugly girls, and loud racket foisted upon my sensitive hearing. I had a lot more fun playing with WAVES.

    Ahhhh…. the good old days….

Hey, hey, Woodstock had a good soundtrack.
    Jimmie and Janis kicked it.
‘Course I didn’t hear it till I came back to the world, but still.

    Robert B. – Yeah, stinky girls . . . stink.

Skip – Whatever happened to Jimi and Janis? Oh . . .
